students.

Teaching and creating, creating and teaching, they go hand in hand. Working within a vacuum has never worked for me, so as I teach, I’m always honing my tools and creating something, as well. This holds true whether I’m teaching a formal class on color theory or introduction to sculptural forms; a community-quilting workshop; teaching self-portraits to 4 and 5 year olds; or instructing teachers how to incorporate time-based sculpture into their physics course;.

My role as a teacher is to help my others see the world with a critical eye, to help them recognize the confidence within themselves, to have meaningful participation in the world around them, and to become active agents in this ever-changing world.
