These works involve hand dyeing fabric, painting, stitching, quilting, marking time, and mapping ideas. My mother is a quilter and showed me how quilts hold such meaning, warmth, and history. I have found that when I’m stuck and I need to work through ideas, working hard with my hands, with colors, with textures, with planes, I can move forward and often leave a quilt in my wake.
