I’m excited to share my newest work. Over the past few years I have been thinking about what I want to have come out of my studio space in a more formal way. While I continue to paint, draw, quilt, dye, embroider, knit, collage, illustrate, and just make…. I wanted to transition away from my Dear John project that took up a few years and built up around some 250 pieces. After a year of experimenting, reading, writing, printing, and making weird things I have started to create this new body of work. Sage is the body of work that is coming off my loom. This body of work pushes the confines of tapestry, weaving, embroidery, quilting, knitting, crocheting, patchwork, and embellishment. Unexpected materials invade the traditional techniques and techniques are disrupted to blur the lines. Textures and color guide the intuitive choices that I make as I‘m working in place of following the rules for a technique or process.
